"Show me where she has not allowed one person to not live their life the way they chose."
Uh let's see, how about the choice for a woman to decide whether to have a child or not? Ms. Palin supports the anti-choice platform of the Republican Party.
Ms. Palin has publicly stated she does not support abortion and would overturn Roe v. Wade. You can't get any more anti-choice than that.

It's funny how the neocons are using the gender card at every opportunity nowadays. Jon Stewart nailed it: http://www.truthdig.com/avbooth/item/20080904_busted_rove_morris_and_oreilly_flip_flop_on_gender_bias/
Who's the bot?

"which by the way she has every right to make her own decisions on how to live her life"
It is too bad she does not afford others the right to make their own decisions on how to live their lives.

It seems like the women who are against Palin and everything she stands for, which by the way she has every right to make her own decisions on how to live her life, should be more concerned with how Obama treats women in general. He belittled Sen.Hillary in the debates and he should of never gone there . How soon these so-called women feminists forget what the bra-burning babes stood for. Once again the Fem-Bots have been over run by the "I hate everything about A Real Women" group, with working ovaries. I never played the gender bender card first you did. But, as they say "ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE AND WAR". Bring it on Bots.

I apologize if I have struck a nerve.
I disagree with pretty much everything for which I have heard that Sarah Palin stands. However, I also have a mother and a sister, and saying that something is "satire" or "progressive" or "comes from a woman friend" does not stop it from being sexist.

Seems like the stuff claimed by folks who support Palin/McCain always need more fact checking than the average claims. Not only has Obama been placed in THAT bikini, but so has... well... you see for yourself:

What, our Obama bobblehead doll and Super Obama t-shirt don't count?
The Palin photo you keep obsessing about was an obvious PhotoShop satire submitted by a Democratic woman friend, who happens to abhor what Palin stands for.
So get out your little scissors and make us an Obama swimwear model that we can post.

You are absolutely right. We misunderstood and thought your comment was directed to the original post. Welcome to Riptide.

"We have no issue with Palin the woman"
So why should Sarah Palin's face be plastered onto some woman in a bikini? In the enormous number of Obama postings, I've never seen his face posted upon a person in swimwear.

My comment was directed to Kat -- who definitely is playing a gender card, progressive feminist or not.
Posted by: Mo | September 07, 2008 at 10:08 PM
Nobody around here plays the gender card. Most of our Palin posts are from progressive feminists. We have no issue with Palin the woman, only with Palin the hypocrite.

There's a huge difference between Obama's camp stating the fact that she's a mayor of a town of 9,000 and her belittling his experience as an organizer. Why are you playing the gender card?
Posted by: Mo | September 07, 2008 at 05:41 PM
Remember, Obama attacked her position as a Mayor of a small town first. Women will stand up for themselves when they are being talked down to. This is no longer the old days.
