COMMENT RECEIVED OFFLINE, SIGNED "OCTOPUSSY"
Any rage at Kaiser docs is misplaced. Someone was going to deliver them. Rage against Suleyman herself, and the doc who performed the implantation procedure (he/she was probably badgered to death by Suleyman). There is something seriously wrong with this woman. She needs some serious therapy, a uterus removal, and to release her litter for adoption.

I would love to hear solutions about how to deal with this problem. She is the most obvious poster child for this issue, but I'm sure everyone on this board has heard of a family that feels the need to have kids in an effort to fill some gaping hole in their lives. Enough! If you can't afford them, don't have them and don't expect me to pay for them.

The taxpayers are going to pay plenty! The per-child tax credit rewards people for having more children. That means the rest of us are subsidizing large families. I believe the tax credit should only apply to the first 2 children.
With the population past our planet's carrying capacity, we should not be encouraging parents to have more than 2 children.

What about the child support? Is she independently wealthy? How will she pay and care for these 8 babies, plus the others (is it 6?) that she has at home? Or... is it possible the American taxpayer is paying for this?

No caring person would begrudge anything to these babies, they're the victims here. However, this octuplet birth is a man-made, intentionally induced medical crisis. Along with gushing about their 52 member team devoted to nine patients, Kaiser needs to set up a separate foundation and begin raising private donations to fund this woman's hospital bill for her idiotic "choice" to have 8 babies at once. Money to pay for her bazillion dollar medical publicity stunt ought not be passed along to the rest of the hardworking Kaiser members.
