Climate change in Pacifica was the topic of a forum Thursday, June 18, at the City Council Chambers. The seats were packed with people of all ages interested in what climate change means to Pacifica.
Guest spekers were Assemblyman Jerry Hill, Mayor Julie Lancelle, attorney Hal Bohner, professor Carlos Davidson, LEED expert Ann Edminster, and chair of the Pacifica Climate Committee, Cynthia Kaufman.
The audience learned how to save money while going green. Many interesting proposals were made, including how city government can help citizens seek assistance in reducing greenhouse gases in our town.
Other topics discussed were:
what is happening statewide,a Pacifica carbon emission inventory, recommendation for a City Climate Action Plan, and what individuals can do to make a difference locally and nationally.
