Nancy Morrison was cited twice for littering because she was feeding feral cats. At the hearing held Wednesday, September 8 at the South San Francisco courthouse, the judge took comments from Captain Dave Bertini of the Pacifica Police Department, who issued the citations, and from Debbie Appel, Ms. Morrison's attorney. The judge ruled that Ms. Morrison was not guilty of violating the Pacifica littering ordinance.

Excellent. It was absurd to try to brand the feeding of homeless cats as littering. Nancy has been reducing the problem by fixing the cats and letting them live out their natural lives without reproducing and making the problem worse. 'Littering' is an insult to her humanitarian actions, and I would hope the police have better things to do with their time.

Bravo!
Why are the police wasting their (our!) time on this sort of thing?
