Peter Fimrite humorously reported in the September 23 San Francisco Chronicle that our fall heat waves are a "welcome respite" from the cool summer. Fimrite expertly explained Diablo winds and Northern California fall climate patterns, but he overlooked those of us down here on the coast who actually prefer fog to sun. We asked Fimrite for equal time and he agreed to interview us next time he has one of those fair-weather moments. If you pay attention to media (print, TV, radio), you can't help but detect a bias toward sunny weather. It's blatant among the chattering classes on the evening news, and you hear it even on KDFC as the classical-music deejays whine about cold fog and rhapsodize about warm sunshine. We just can't get no respect!
