Black-tailed deer portraits were taken a few days ago up in San Pedro Valley County Park. Black-tailed deer is the subspecies of mule deer found in the Pacific Northwest. As North American deer go, they're quite small, smaller than the mule deer of the Rockies. Among other plants, they eat lots of poison oak.
