Shouldn't Riptide encourage readers to submit ideas about how to commemorate 12/12/12 this Wednesday in Pacifica? Brainstormers may want to bear in mind that, according to Wikipedia, "Pacifica is divided into roughly twelve distinct neighborhoods from north to south: ..." Also, Pacifica's largest private employer, Safeway, is at 12 Pacific Manor Center. (Did someone say flash mob on aisle 12 at 12:12 p.m.?)

Do you mean that the 12 days of Christmas and the 12-step program aren't the same thing? Maybe I've been doing it all wrong all these years.

I've been screwed up at this time of year ever since I started confusing the 12 days of Xmas with my 12-step program.

This is ALWAYS a very special occasion for the entire extended Jana family. Each year, no matter how busy or how far away, parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, children, and grandchildren alike drop whatever they are doing and hop on a plane, train, bus, or their trusty Prius and make their way to meh big sis Kat's lovely, expansive estate right here in good ol' Pacifica for the festivities. Wait. What? Oh. Never mind.

Thanks, John. BTW, I had a nightmare last night that the person who stocks Aisle 12 got trampled in our flash mob! I don't think puny Manor Safeway even HAS an Aisle 12.
Anyway, I'm writing this on the plane taking off for Laughlin, and will return on12/12/12. If I learn that my return is Flight 12 leaving from Gate 12 and that I'm seated in Row 12, consider me a permanent Laughlin resident.
