Bay Nature: Events & Resources

Bay Area nature enthusiasts stay informed and list events on BAY NATURE. That’s easy to do with the online event submission form. Email your announcements, but please submit two weeks in advance. The calendar is the most comprehensive list of nature-related public activities in the Bay Area: hikes, talks, film screenings, workshops, restoration projects, special days at nature centers and science museums. Calendar events also feed into the interactive map.

It looks like the proposal is to add public access to the watershed that holds the drinking water supply for the Peninsula and San Francisco. In any year -- drought or not -- we have to appreciate that members of the public will wander off the trail, leave litter, not pick up after themselves, bring pets, use a walking trail in ways never intended, including not picking up after themselves or their pets, etc.

Fortunately, we have hundreds of trails and miles to pick from off Skyline and in GGNRA, local parks, and beaches.

It's not something we can afford to risk with our drinking water supply.
