The following links provide background leading up to the City Council vote to demolish 310 Esplanade:
Recent storms have brought record amounts of sand to Sharp Park Beach and Pier. The seawall near Clarendon once had a staircase leading down to the beach; the sand has risen to the top of the wall. On Beach Boulevard, the city used a scoop shovel to lift sand piles off the roadway and put it back on the beach. Severe erosion is eating into the bluffs near the Dollar Radio Station house. It looks like the dunes are collapsing and will be lost very soon. (Click here for photos by Leo Leon Images)
