Thank you, Alan, did not know that.

It is worth noting that of the 67 trail segments that comprise the 80-mile Bay Area loop, nine have been "adopted," including the seven-mile segment that passes through Pacifica (Sweeney Ridge to Milagra Ridge to Mussel Rock). A Redwood City online payment company WePay donated $1,500 to name the Pacifica segment in memory of its 25-year-old employee Andres Brutus of Millbrae, one of two men killed in an auto accident in 2016 on an unincorporated stretch of Skyline Boulevard. (Why WePay purchased the Pacifica trail segment -- when all seven other Peninsula segments, except Saratoga, including WePay's Redwood City and Brutus's Millbrae, are available for adoption -- isn't known.)
