BUM'S RUSH FOR HMB HOMELESS

NEWS STORY

Strawflower Shopping Center's homeless camp in the creek recently enjoyed a Service Day (free breakfast, hot showers, laundry), but authorities plan to clear out the creek-dwellers soon, with nowhere else for them to go.

NEWS STORY

County sheriff's deputies are asking RVs lining Airport Street in Moss Beach/Princeton to leave, but the "homeless" occupants say they have nowhere else to go.

TRANSPORTATION TOWN HALL @ SOUTH CITY, FEBRUARY 22

PRESS RELEASE

San Mateo County Transportation Authority (SMCTA) launches its Get Us Moving (GUM) campaign. We can't think of a worse acronym for a public transportation initiative. The word "gum" has all kinds of counterintuitive negative connotations, especially in a transportation context. "Gum" connotes "stuck" and "sticky" as in "traffic is all gummed up" and "buses have sticky gum stuck on the floor and under the seats." Please attend the town halls, take the survey, and give SMCTA your honest feedback. Click the press release link above for details. And don't forget to tell them that GUM is the dumbest acronym ever!
