For months, the City of Half Moon Bay has been fidgeting, agonizing, dithering, and dragging its feet in implementation of the new cannabis regulations for pot dispensaries and grow operations. Click the links above for the city's analysis paralysis, which should be resolved by public vote on the November ballot (click HMB PUNTS link above for details). Meanwhile, the City of Pacifica is closer to opening six legal cannabis dispensaries.

As we are an environmentally aware coastal community, our leaders should really consider the environmental impact of this crop. Aquaponics with natural sunlight (using a model like Ouroboros Farm) would be much healthier for all involved, and this method uses less water, too. UC Davis has studied the impact of grows for quite some time. Good reading is found on the UC Davis website. Search any related terms, and articles will populate. https://www.ucdavis.edu/

Unfortunately, I watched a guy "buy up" for two teens the other day waiting outside. If the camera in front of the store was on, the entire thing would have been caught on film. It’s the new generation’s beer behind the bleachers. I do think we need to think through having too many sites spread out in any community. Personally, I’d rather see them lined up like auto row.

Wow, only 30 days to legal pot. Until Pacifica gets its act together, do we want to operate a Pacifica Canna-bus to the nearest dispensary?
