I have just been corrected. What I paid for was an advertisement. The listings were free and the advertisements cost money. In any case, the Chamber of Commerce has a political agenda that runs counter to the interests of many Pacifica businesses, and while the directory used to be what made them relevant, it doesn't do that anymore.

Pacifica business listings are free on Yelp:

We (Pacifica businesses) all paid for our listings back when. The directory is now useful only if one hopes to patronize or boycott chamber members.

The Chamber of Commerce directory used to list all businesses in Pacifica, as well as all listed residential phone numbers. I keep an old dog-eared directory for when I need to look up a business or local phone number. I don't use the newer directories because they don't list all businesses, only chamber members. When I need a number for a business that's not in the directory, I look it up on the Internet. The chamber directory has become irrelevant. There's no reason to use it, so nobody does.

Dan, the chamber is a business that has to pay for goods and services. It costs to collect, verify, proofread, and commission the directory printing. Businesses have to pay for a listing just like Yellow Pages. If you were a businessman who paid for a listing and your neighbor did not but got a listing on your dime, how would you feel about it? Just wondering.

I would like to see those "I shop Pacifica whenever I can" bumper stickers from a decade or so ago. It reminds people to support local businesses. I guess the Chamber of Commerce stopped doing it because it also might help the great many Pacifica businesses that aren't going to be members of the chamber. Same as its policy with the directory.

Florey's Book Co. on Palmetto has a variety of stickers.

Hi all, I noticed you all were linking to an old link to your PCFCA oval sticker in our shop. Here's the new link for those still interested in ordering.

Anyone know where you can pick up those red P-town stickers?

PCFCA stickers are at the smoke shop in Pedro Point (near Nor Cal)
