Hi, Chris: Yes, those of us who lived through the "streetcar era" remember the four lanes of streetcars that ran right down Market Street from Castro Street to the Ferry Building. The electric streetcars were not only cheap and efficient transportation, but they didn't belch putrid exhaust smoke into the air as do the buses.

Hi, Bob. This is a great photo and reminds me of when I was working at the downtown I. Magnin's and would go to Woolworth's and have lunch at the counter!
