Often the sand builds up against the SF revetment and completely covers the outflow for the pump that drains the golf course. It's a guess that when the pump turned on, the "gusher" appeared, bubbling up from under the sand but found an easier path to the ocean by flowing south along the toe of the slope toward Mori Point.
