Never forget

November 22, 2019 is the 56th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas. I remember where I was on that terrible Friday night: a vigil in front of the American Embassy in London, standing with other Americans mourning the death of JFK.

I heard the news from a co-worker as we left the Long-Bell planer mill in Weed at the end of our shift. It had been many years since a big-time assassination in the U.S., and I recall everyone was shocked, whether or not they cared for JFK.
