City Attorney Michelle Kenyon stated at the second reading of the oversized vehicle (RV) ordinance that the California Coastal Commission has stated that it will require a Coastal Development Permit before this ordinance could be enacted in the Coastal Zone.

Long story made short, Pedro Point, Rockaway, Sharp Park, and Manor (oceanside) will likely not be affected by this ordinance.

Update: She’s back. Changed the listing from 4 bedrooms to 3 (plus loft). Still 14 guests. We have been rezoned hotel.

While the City hasn’t taken our concerns seriously, AirBnB has.

Sharyn H, Jan 27, 20:53 PST:

Hello Julie,

Thank you for your patience while we investigated this matter.

We shared your concerns with the Airbnb host in question and suspended their listing temporarily. We’ve also given them some suggestions to address the issue and to avoid similar situations in the future.

We will continue to take note of any further issues raised against this host.

Thank you for helping to improve our community.

Kind regards,

Sharyn

I just wrote this to the city manager, city attorney, permits, code enforcement, and sent a photo of the overfilled trash cans from the full-time AirBnB that is now the situation next door.

14 people moved into an under-2000-sq-foot home Friday to Sunday. Every weekend we have crowds like this, and noise. Trash in our cans. Trespassing on our property. There is not enough parking for the multiple vehicles, which take up all the available space on their driveway. Ubers use ours for pickups. I am not sleeping.
We've tried to communicate with the owner privately, as we don't wish to impede her business. We've asked that she reduce the number of guests. But she's shown herself to have no control over the situation, or noise.

All has been communicated to AirBnB, and city offices.

This was sent this morning.

The Council will be voting on the RVs tonight.

For all the people in Pacifica that believe there isn’t enough housing and we need to fill every open space, including the quarry-

There was a home next door to me that could have been rented to a family.

Before you complain about the RVs, think about all the greedy landlords that got us here.

Greed is what is motivating the new homeowner next door.

The people in the trailers have ties to the community. The homeowner next door does not.
