Posted on NextDoor: Just wanted to bring awareness about reports of blatant and open poaching of Dungeness crabs from Pacifica Pier and local beaches. Others have seen several individuals in the surf at night with flashlights poaching Dungeness. The season has been closed and remains closed until notice, usually open in November. If you see poaching, please phone in a tip. This illegal poaching goes against those of us who follow the regulations, pay for licenses, and do our best to protect our natural resources. If you have Facebook, please feel free to post pictures or message photos to the page privately, which will be published by the page. https://wildlife.ca.gov/Enforcement/CalTIP NOTE: Violations submitted online will be read only during regular business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. For in-progress violations, please call our CalTIP line at 1-888-334-2258, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
