Pacifica Planning Commission met Tuesday, January 17. The agenda item for certification and adoption of a Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR) for the Rockaway Quarry Reclamation project was rescheduled for a March meeting. I am strongly against this project and have penned an open letter (link below) expressing my objections. (Owen Brizgys)

I urge everyone to read Owen's letter. It details the reasons behind the scheme to truck 1 million cubic yards (!!!) of soil, some of which may be contaminated, to the quarry. In short, it is to save the shipper the dump costs he would normally have to pay to dispose of the soil.
