This story is a skimpy, sloppy, and partly erroneous (due to some of the generalized wording) account of what happened to the Ocean Shore Railway. Those who care to get a much better handle on the real story--including the other end of the railroad that was built north from Santa Cruz to Swanton--should get a copy of "The Last Whistle."
